“My name is Andrea Saltini, I was born in Carpi, a small town without music in the north of Italy. I express my art mainly through painting.
After studying art, becoming “Maestro d’Arte”, I have received a UDP Master's degree in Communication with a thesis entitled: How to Talk Dirty and Influence people.
For a few years I lived out of canned food, spending my days looking out the window, drooling in the throes of the mania of painting, waiting to, waiting to become an established painter”.

A Drooling Mania
As a child I enjoyed laying under trees, I liked disappearing in the fields and reappear as one that returns after a long journey, I used to draw a lot... people, animals, especially the faces; I liked to reproduce everything for what it is, or at least I was trying. At the age of eleven, under one of those trees, I invented and started drawing a story, than I forgot it. When it reappeared after some time, I thought to paint it. That’s how it started, more or less, my Playing with Art the secret game of a child who does not know what to wish or fear the most: to stay hidden or be discovered.Often the motivations of a secret do not hide anything reprehensible and the secret is simply our melody, the art that enchants us and makes us astonished witnesses of life.I believe that was the moment I opened myself to art.But who knows? ... I just know art is a woodworm, a drooling mania, a secret.I would have not started painting without a secret, to me painting it is just this: a deal, and enchantment, an invisible thread that ties us to an experience, a memory.

Why I am not a painter
I am not a painter, I am a poet. Why? I think I would rather be a painter, but I am not. Well, for instance, a friend of mine is starting a painting. I drop in"Sit down and have a drink" he says. I drink; we drink. I look up: “You have SARDINES in it?” “Yes, it needed something there.” “Oh…” I go and the days go by and I drop in again. The painting is going on, and I go, and the days go by. I drop in. The painting is finished. “Where's SARDINES?”All that's left is just letters, “It was too much,” my friend says. But me? One day I am thinking of a color; orange. I write a line about orange. Pretty soon it is a whole page of words, not lines. Then another page. There should be so much more, not of orange, of words, of how terrible orange is and life. Days go by. It is even in prose, I am a real poet. My poem is finished and I haven't mentioned orange yet. It's twelve poems, I call it ORANGES. And one day in a gallery I see my friend's picture, called:SARDINES.
